Monitoring & Advising Your Goods
Applying to companies (with some exceptions) involved in activities which include the carriage, or the related loading, packing, filling or unloading, of dangerous goods by road.
ADR (Section 1.8.3) requires that companies employ (or contract with) a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) for helping to prevent the risks inherent in such activities, to provide guidance and ensure compliance with the regulations.
Pentland Logistics Ltd can be contracted by companies to meet the requirement for a DGSA as specifed in ADR.
As an adviser, we would be responsible to the head of the company for a number of prescribed duties, including: -
- Monitoring compliance with the requirements governing the carriage of dangerous goods
- Advising the company on the carriage of dangerous goods
- Preparing an annual report to the management of the company or a local public authority, on the company’s activities in the carriage of dangerous goods
Under the terms of the contract, Pentland Logistics Ltd would undertake an audit of the company and produce a report identifying any areas of concern or that require addressing to ensure compliance with the regulations.
